Old CB Holiday Biome!

As hoped for, there's a special biome for old CB Holiday dragons now. It started this night and will go on until December 25th.

The breed limits are still in effect, though, but that can have advantages, too. I just caught my two CB Hollies within the hourly drop by speed clicking on one egg - the breed limit would reject any of the others so I didn't need to worry about misclicks.

*headdesk* I didn't pay enough attention to breeding times, though, and messed up all my Solstice lineages. That's what I get for using the Blackout skin and not seeing the little day symbol. Well, next year then.

I have similarly taken advantage of the breed limit thing - if I suspect my browser isn't really refreshing the page, I just click on a random egg. It's either taken (in which case yes, my browser was lying to me) or I get the limit message, so I don't have to worry about wasting egg slots! Very convenient.

Have not managed to catch any CBs that I want except for a solitary Ribbon Dancer, but maybe Thursday the catching will be easier?

I wish TJ would tweak the ratios a little, though; it seems like 20 Mistletoes drop for every 1 Yulebuck, which strikes me as backwards. The further back it was released, the more current players won't have it, so the more will be needed. Getting blocked by a wall of Aegises so that nothing else will fall is going to be inconvenient...

Whew. Well, I finally caught two CB Yulebucks and a second Holly, after many many hours of hunting. Now I've got my full complement of CB holidays, and can relax for a while. Tomorrow I'll think about breeding.

I was curious whether the Hollies would be influenceable -- the original Hollies were male, but the Honorable Mentions could be influenced male or female. My new one says influence is unavailable, though.

Yeah, the ratios definitely need adjusting. By now there are even CB Snows and CB Aegis hanging around the AP and starting to clog up things there as well.

Yeah, I browsed the forums for a while. People were wondering the same thing. Also, if Mistletoes would be influenceable, or if the new CB Solstices would have blue wings when caught in daytime.

So far none of the eggs were influenceable, but some people reported that precognition showed their Mistletoes would be male. So basically, we're all still wondering? *g*

I precog'd my new Holly and it said it would be male. But the two Yulebucks it said weren't available for precog so something weird is going on... if (some) Mistletoes are precogging male, I wonder if it's random? And uninfluenceable? So if you want one of each gender, it's going to be down to trading. Hm. Well, I'll be happy with two male Hollies, although one of each would be pretty cool. If all of the new ones are male, then the only people with one of each gender will be the Honorable Mention folks who chose female Hollies.

Managed a pair each of CB Yulebucks and Snow Angels; unless TJ tweaks the ratios, I'm not holding out any hope for Hollies, but I'll keep trying.

TJ said the new CB ones are supposed to be like the original release, and if they weren't, he would correct those retroactively. So bummer for those users who precog'd male CB Mistletoes...

I managed to get one by sheer chance- I clicked just as the page was loading, and somehow it grabbed a Holly. Haven't been able to repeat the luck, but hey, at least it means there's some hope!

Yeah, I saw that. I keep thinking, if I'd influenced my HM Holly female, I could have had a pair if each! I'd be able to breed 2G PB Hollies! No chance of that now. Oh well. Silly to be disappointed about having two male CB Hollies! I can't complain.

I get it, though. I probably would be a bit disappointed, too. But nobody could have known that TJ would bring back past CB holiday eggs. I'm still over the moon because of that. Halloween was awesome, and getting CB Hollies was awesome as well. I really hope he's going to do the same for Valentine's, despite all the drama. Then I would have a chance at finally getting CB Sweetlings!
