Thoughts on the new Siyat dragons?

I love the dragons, but the mechanics required to get purple or blue is freaking annoying. Not being able to use incubate, and having to tie up slots for 2(?) extra days if we want purple? No bueno.

I like to earn my shards early each week, so I hit a biome, max out my 8 slots, hold for 5 hours, kick to the AP. Lather, rinse, repeat until I hit 100 shards. Then I hunt for me. I want the purples, and blues, for lineages but not sure I'll bother if I have to tie up slots until they're under 2 days, unincubated.

I'm very meh about the Siyats, and the breeding mechanic doesn't help. I'm going to stalk the AP for low time eggs and try to get my purples that way.

I have no problems getting my shards maxed out within half a day, I'm always picking up eggs from the AP for my scroll, so something is growing up all the time, and even abandoned eggs count for the shard count. But yeah, I can see how the Siyats would mess with you style of playing.

I guess it doesn't really bother me, since I don't breed much any more, just collect the new breeds and I'm out. I got four green ones right away by incubating my first batch, now I've got eight more, so I can let the first four hatch normally without incubating and fog the last four for an extra day. (I assume that will get me blues and purples, if I read the forums right.) Then after that I'm done.

I haven't bothered about shards since the first couple of weeks. There's nothing I need in the market. The only dragons I'm short of are a couple of Xenos, and maybe a couple of Zyus? but they're not available in the market anyway so meh.

I don't understand this at all. All I know is I tried to grab some from each biome and I ended up with several blue ones. I traded for a teal one and have yet to even see a purple one.

So, if someone can grab some crayons and explain it to me, please, I would really appreciate it. LOL!

Hopefully he tweaks and adds to the Market. The price on some things are ridiculous and like you, the stuff I want the most isn't there anyway. After all the years of waiting for it, it was kind of a fail in execution.

The first thought was green comes from any egg allowed to hatch at 4 days, like normal. Blue at under 4 days, naturally, no incubating. Or under 3 days if you incubated. Purple was thought to be under 3 days, naturally. Again, with incubation.

But some people now have eggs that have hatched that were under 3 days, and they still got blue. So now they are rethinking the Purple part of it. Green and Blue hold true to theory.

My lowest time egg now is 2d 21hrs. The new guess is now it needs to be under 2 days for Purple. Which is ridiculous. And a long darn time to have slots tied up. Well, for me anyway. I don't have almost a 100 reds just cause they look pretty. Lol.

LOL, wow! Still a little confused, but I think I can guess what's going on. It has to do hatching time and the use of the BSA Incubate to direct the color desired. However, there isn't any clear evidence on what's fact and what's not, yet.

I didn't incubate any of mine and got all blue. All my eggs were stolen and hatched around 3-4 days. I have a few Reds, nowhere near as many as you, though, so maybe I need to try the Incubate on the new eggs I just grabbed to see what happens.

Incubate won't change the outcome, you'll still need the egg to reach it's natural age for the desired color.

For example.. You want a Blue hatchie. You grab an egg (Biome does not matter for color outcome), you incubate like normal. Egg hits 3 days, 23 hours, has enough views to hatch. Hatches. Gonna be Green.

The time may say just under 4 days, but it's naturally just under 5 days. You'd need to hold that little influenced egg until it's a bit under 3 days incubated time.

So no point incubating unless all you want are Green hatchies. The color variants are affected by the eggs normal, unchanged time only. You'll need to mentally add a day back on if you incubate them.

Green hatchie - Treat like a normal egg. Hatch it at 4 days.

Blue - Hatch it below 4 days but before 1 day, 23 hrs.

Purple - Hatch with 1 day 23 hrs left, or less.

Green and Blue are proven. Purple is still a work in progress.

I agree. The market as it is now is not very useful. I guess for people who collect common/uncommon eggs that are not always easy to find in the biomes, they can buy them. That's kind of handy. And if they really want the standard rares they can save up for them. But with the Coppers, Xenos, and Zyus missing, that's a lot of what people are looking for. I hope he finds a way to add them. But I'm not too fussed about it. I'm just short of my "two pairs of each" goal for a few of them, but I have at least one pair of each variant, so I can live with that.

I was mostly looking forward to the store if we would be able to buy old holiday dragons and/or prizes. But then TJ handled those a different way, with the holiday biome, and the monthly raffles. So I've got my holiday collection complete, and will go on never having a CB prize, oh well.
