Wow, 'neglected science' is all I can say! Thank you so much for your explanation! I put my egg - which I got from the cave - into 7(?) click sites when it had 5 minutes left and it died. How you did it sounds definitely more...what shall I say, "professional"? I wonder if the hatching time depends on the dragon breed? Maybe I should try it your way, take eggs from the same breed and see after how many minutes they hatch.. I keep saying to myself to make more ND experiments, but collecting has more priority at the moment. ;C
