Here's a timeline for the upcoming Valentine's Day events:

Saturday, February 8 at 0:00: Past Valentine's dragons will be breedable. They will remain breedable for exactly seven days, ending February 15 at 0:00. Like the Holiday Event, breed limits for past Valentine's dragons will be removed.
Friday, February 14 at 0:00: A new Valentine's Day dragon will be released. It will drop for three days, ending February 17 at 0:00. In addition, a special event will begin at this time, lasting one week (it will end February 21 at 0:00).

There will also be some downtime in the next two weeks, due to some unfortunately-timed datacenter changes. The downtime will last approximately two to four hours, and I will try to schedule it to be during a low traffic period (although that may not be possible). It is likely going to overlap with Valentine breeding (although it shouldn't interfere with Valentine's Day itself). This post will be updated with details as they are available.

I have CB Valentine's from every year but 09, so if anyone wants to swap 2G for 2G of anything, let me know and we'll work it out. My 09s are 2G unfortunately, but can offer up 3G is anyone cares.

What lineage are your 09s? Mine are 2Gs, too, Red x Val09 and Spring x Val09, with matching mates so they breed 3G checkers. I was thinking of trying to find some matching 3G checkers, so I can continue the pattern.

I just checked mine. It's been so long that I'd forgotten that they're actually second generation on the Valentine's side, but 4G on the father's side. :-( That's the only year I couldn't get Valentine's dragons. I was playing but the lag was so horrible that I spent the whole time refreshing without luck. :-(

I couldn't catch any Valentine dragons in 2009, either! I'd started playing only about a month and a half before (right after the Yulebucks dropped, so I missed them, too!), and had a horrible connection at the time, and I was locked for most of the day, and I didn't really think it would be that big a deal. Luckily, I managed to pick up two from the AP the next year -- and they both turned out to be 2nd gens!

Okay, here's a dumb question: If I were to breed this with either of my CB Electrics, d'you think that would catch anyone's eye? (My other '09 is a hot mess in terms of lineage, which is a shame because she's got alt Sweetlings wayway back.)

Huh - that colour scheme is really close to Mum's '09, which is a Pink/DeepSea stair. :D (The one she caught; its offspring.) So if you like the general look of those, then I think you should go ahead and breed yours! :D

I'll spend my time online this afternoon stalking the AP (at least until I get promised eggs from nice people), here in Japan it's snowing and cold.
Too bad I have one egg slot occupied with a Neglected Dragon experiment - but the code of the egg is "ndcRY", I just have to try to get a ND haha.
