I have not looked at TJ's September release post in a few days, as I like to avoid spoilers sometimes, on how the new ones will look at each stage. I went back today to finally take a peek, and only see six sprites now. Didn't he have 9 eggs? Even his original post says 9. I skimmed the last page of comments and there seems to be some drama going on, but I can't be bothered to read back pages to see why.

Thoughts on the adults? I'm kind of meh on them. I was hoping they'd stay true to their egg colors. Those jewel tone eggs were gorgeous. I know it's just me but when I look at the adults, they remind me of a chihuahua or some other small breed of dog.

Nope, not losing your mind. It was nine at first, and this morning I went to take a look and it was nine adults. I kept wondering because they all looked the same and I had expected dimorphism after his original post. So I guess he messed up?

...Where did they go? TJ is up to something, apparently! (I *had* wondered, because I knew there hadn't been any dimorphism back when I stumbled upon the developmental process! But I figured that had been changed at some point before production.)

I was hoping they'd stay true to their egg colors

Maybe my brain is misfiring, but I kind of feel like the adult sprites have been brightened. That orange one in particular is... orange. *blinks* Needs to be bred with Magi!

I definitely think the Volcano version looks best! I like the speckles in the wings, which give it some depth and interest. Something about the Alpine version's wings are irking me; I think there's too much contrast between the two colours used, because my eyes keep trying to interpret it as one all-bright-pink wing in front of a darker wing on the far side of which only the edge can be seen. Needs more shading or blending or something! (Like the eggs have, with their darker areas.)

--Wouldn't it look fabulous bred with 2009 Valentines, though. :D Now I have plans...

I do really love the sprite itself, still. (Long-legged critters are My Thing, yes indeed.) The sweep of the tail, the air of precision to its tapered legs (it looks like it's stalking down the draconic equivalent of a catwalk!), the tilt of the head that shows off its delicate nose but also the little spike there - I think it's really cute!

But yeah, needs more of the lucent jewel-shading that the egg had, definitely.

TJ commented that it was an oversight on his part.
