Dragonopedia Question

Looking through my Dragonopedia, there's only one sprite I haven't unlocked yet. It's not even darker, so I have to ask you:
Which dragon sorts in between Pyralspite and Red? -_-

(And unrelated, does anyone else have the problem that people keep on trying to trade prize dragon offspring for everything?)

Sorry for the short answer - I was just about to leave for the school run.

I have the opposite problem. I had a 3rd EG Gold Tinsel up for trade and I kept being offered messy reds and long line tinselkins.

Does anybody know where to find any Alpine Pyralspite up for trade? I don't see them at all in the dragonmarket.

the Alpine Pyralspite is in super high demand. I mean it was rare before but now everyone plans to breed them to their Valentines. I've been trying to trade for one for ages, but CB Coppers are easier to get these days.

That's too bad. I have a pair and a spare, but I generally try to collect three CB pairs of each type. I think the problem is that, when dragons come in different colours (like Pyralspites and Coppers), the system counts them as one dragon, while we count them as three, therefore the offer is three times less than the demand. Add to that that there may be more or less dragons of a breed in a particular biome, compared to other biomes where you may find the breed, and we have a recipe for the rarest commons ever.

I have just bred my spare Almandine with my Val'09 to see if they are compatible and they have given me an egg. I guess they are easier to breed than to catch in the cave.

It's interesting because in my exerience all copper colors are about the same, but with Pyralspites, the volcano variant is very common and the other two much less. I don't think I'll ever understand cave ratios.

I am more interested in CB than breeding (except for prizes and Hollies, obviously), so I'll wait a bit. There were a couple of people here that wanted 2nd gens from '09, so I'll see if I can breed what they need. I only have one CB '09 so let's see.

I dunno; I seem to see more Brown coppers than other colours when I'm skimming the Cave. Definitely more Red & Brown than Verdigris, too (and the dragonmarket definitely seems to reflect that, too - I see people demanding a LOT more for their Verdigris catches than for their Browns, and they turn up on want-lists ranked higher than their ruddier kin).

I have to say, I think the Almandines look good with all the pink Valentines! (Okay, haven't seen them with Sweetlings, but.) I bred an Almandine from Rosebud and an Almandine from Arsani, and really like both! Finding mates for those is one of my AP-and-trade projects this breeding season. :D

ok I don't even know which copper drops where XD but I guess browns aren't as pretty as the teal ones so I can see people trading them away more easily.

Almandines do look quite pretty in a lineage. I wish I had some.

Heh, it's tough! I still tend to forget which kind drops in the Alpine, till I stop and consciously work it out.

It kinda helps if you know what the different colours are based on - brown is meant to resemble copper treated with "liver of sulfur" and those eggs drop in "harsh environments" where a sealant would be helpful: Desert & Volcano. The teal/green ones are based on verdigris, which happens in damp environments; ergo they drop in the Jungle & Coast. Regular/Rainbow ones drop in the other two biomes.

Don't we all! Speaking of things that everybody wants, and everybody "charges" ridiculous prices for! Almandines, Spessartines, & Verdigris Coppers seem to be the Not-Officially-Rare Rares at the top of everybody's list. :P

Hm, in my experiences the Brown Coppers are either more common or less wanted. I see them more often in the cave, hell, I even caught two and wasn't able to trade them away, so I froze them on my scroll.

guess I never paid that much attention to copper colors. I can barely tell them apart, although I guess the blueish ones are prettier?
