Gemshard Colour Ratios
Apr. 9th, 2015 04:49 pmHow did it turn out for you? I caught quite a few Gemshards, but so far Red is definitely the minority on my scroll. This is how it looks for me:
Blue 9
Green 8
Red 2
I still have four unhatched eggs on my scroll, but by now I have started offering on colour swap trades to even out the result.

Date: 2015-04-09 04:46 pm (UTC)I saw someone else mention that Red seemed to be the least common color. But then someone else popped up and said they had way more Reds than anything else. So I don't know if it was coincidence, or if Red really is slightly less common. But there seem to be plenty of everything to go around. I had no trouble trading my extra Green for a Red.

Yeah, I saw that on the forum, and plenty of people saying oh no, not Red again. There are also lots of trades, so I'm not nervous about that. But yeah, seeing those comments and my own scroll experience was what made me do this post. I'm simply curious. *g*

Date: 2015-04-10 01:13 am (UTC)I would like to end up with mates for the odd Blue and Red, and I would love some Greens as well. I don't feel a need to collect a lot of them, but I do want to add a few more so I have maybe a couple pairs of each color.

Date: 2015-04-11 09:59 am (UTC)They get picked up SO quickly, unbelievable - well, I AM happy that they still drop and aren't very rare!, though.
I haven't been very active on DC lately(ok, let's say 'not very active on the internet'..the only thing I am doing on my PC is Flight Rising and a bit DC apart from working), but I have: 3 blue, 4 green and 1 red Gemshard. And I had motivation today to watch the Jungle biome for over an hour and picked up 5 new Gemshards. Two misclicks got auto-abandoned, my Vampires and the other dragons on my scroll were nice to me today.

Date: 2015-04-11 10:45 am (UTC)I'm starting to think the color has something to do with the time the eggs get picked up or hatch, because all of mine that were caught/hatched at night (Cavetime) turned out to be either blue or green, and the others turned out red. But maybe that's just coincedence.

Date: 2015-04-12 09:49 am (UTC)3 Red
2 Blue
at least one pair of each colour.
I haven't seen them falling at all now, so wondering how rare they'll be.
Any ideas about breeding patterns? Random or do purebreds breed true? (Meaning two reds = 1 red, two blues = 1 blue, two greens = 1 green)

Date: 2015-04-12 10:03 am (UTC)I guess I'll start breeding when I have all the CBs I need for my scroll goals, which isn't reached yet. Still need two more Reds. And then I have the s1 and s2 frozen hatchies to work on, too.
