Lineages in progress

Things have been going pretty well with a couple of my lineage projects, so I wanted to share!

My Honeyochre lineage is progressing nicely; I've got one 4G Honey right now, and this is the last 2G I need: once it's mature, I can start breeding a mate for the 4G!

Second, at long last I managed to obtain a mate for my very special Mutamore, AND they didn't reject each other! So this is now in the process of growing up. Hopefully she'll gender correctly and won't reject the mate I have waiting in the wings for her!


Those of you who breed fancy lineages, how have they been doing lately? Any successes, or major setbacks? Show off your pretty bred dragons so we can ooh and ahh. :D

What a great idea! This is the finished product of the GoN x AoCr x Silver Herald lineage all of you helped me with. I'm very happy with it. *g*

My current project is going well, I just have to wait a bit until I can work on their mate again. But so far it's looking good.

That's a pretty Spinel lineage! Making good progress so far, it looks like. How many generations are you aiming for?

...I really can't believe that I managed to pick up TWO, unrelated Mutamores from Silver Tinsel in the AP! But I did, and then the frustration became "how on earth do I get a 2G Tinsel as mate when I have no good trade fodder?" It was a bit of a circuitous route, but it eventually led to the 2G Tinsel I needed plus a 2G Tinselkin for another project, so yay!

I really want a Tinsel 4G from this lineage, so they better not be one of those couples that hates each other except at Valentine's. :P

I'm usually going for 5th gens, and that's what I'm planning for the Spinel x Herald as well. I'm already halfway finished with breeding the mate, but the next blue phase will be starting November, and I guess I'll be mostly collecting Halloween stuff at that point.

I created a group for my favourite checkers, and they are mostly 5th gens, with the occasional 6th gen (not too happy with those, the lineages start to look unbalanced at that point) or 4th gen (because I'm still missing dragons to continue - CB Golds, anyone?).

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering, too. I picked up this Snow last Christmas and recently also this beauty, and so far I had no luck getting them proper mates.

Are you using Fertility? I've pretty much started using it for all of my projects, and so far I believe it has paid off. Even if I don't always get the egg that I want at the first try, at least they don't refuse each other.

CB Golds are a curse for lineage breeders! :D

I don't use Fertility; I had a bad run of luck with it where it seemed every other dragon I applied it to refused their mate, so I gave up.

I still need a 2G Silver Shimmer for this Falconiform and one for this Chrono! I need to find out who has a CB female Silver Shimmer...

That was how I ended up with my Tinsel from Mutamore. Saw someone offering a 2G offspring from the right Tinsel, PM'ed them asking very politely if they had a breeding list and offering some options of what I could collect of breed. It turned out that person wasn't able to breed for me, but they gave me the names of two other female Silver Tinsel owners to PM.

One was amenable to trading for four hybrids plus a 3G Tinsel! The other I asked for a Tinselkin I needed, once it became clear that the first person would breed a Tinsel for me, and I did some breeding of "tricky" 2Gs - she needed Nebula and Gemshard offspring of certain colors. I got lucky and my first round of breeding bombed, but the second time they colored right.

I'm not a big bronze fan, but it really does look good with the Snow! And the Razor/Silver Shimmer combo is so pretty!
