shimmer trading

how are the rest doing in the trades for shimmers?; even my 5th gen bronze (okay, it does have tan and purple ridgewing in it), isn't interesting anymore.  Is it for the rest the same?
Very frustrating I find that my brothers do have succes, and I see al the beauties go to him, even though I have to do all the work for it (search the right mate on his scroll, breed them, post them on the forum, answer all the pb's, and even decide which trade to choose).

I have noticed it depends a lot on the mate. Very often people add "no holidays please" to their trade offers, for example, so my Shimmer/Shadow Walker eggs are harder to trade.

Also, so far I haven't been able to trade for a gold with my Shimmers, even though all my eggs are 4th - 5th gen. Got a new one where it will be 6th gen, but at least it has a common mate, so I hope for the best.

the last ones I was trying to trade are non-holiday mates (ridgewing, bluesang), so that's not the problem with these :(
The one with Ridgewing is a 5th gen (mine is 4th), someone was interested before, but when I finally had an egg, it was a problem it had tan and purple in its lineage - so she didn't want it anymore :( On the trading forums I eventually got 2 CB reds for it.

I have 1 grown gold shimmer, I wouldn't mind trading if you have lineages I don't have yet or if they are shorter lineages - there was a misgendering in the beginning, so what was supposed to be a spiral became a stairstep - if that is no problem I wouldn't mind doing a trade: http://dragcave.net/lineage/yxi9q

Sadly, that is a problem for me. Pity - it's really a beautiful combination. For the other lineage I already have an agreement for a shorter one.

I guess I don't have the right 'connections' in dragon world, once I'm done with the couple I promised I think I'll just stop with this whole thing :(

Maybe it's the forums? I have next to no luck there, so I'm doing most of my trades either here or on Dragonmarket - that one works really well.

Oooh - I'm going to have to check out Dragonmarket, because yep, I'm finding the Forums to be more and more work for les and less result, lately. I have hated the formatting for trading on the Forums ever since I joined, and it's grown steadily worse as new breeds, new prize breeds, and an ever-increasing demand for rares seems to have taken over all the regular traders.

I haven't really done a lot of Shimmer trading, but I've noticed that I do better when I offer on other trades than when I post mine for offers. It seems there are so many trades for Shimmers being posted, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. So I mostly try to find someone trading something I want and offer on their trade rather than posting mine and hoping somebody offers.
