Lurker!

This is going to be my first Halloween and I just hope everything will go well. I killed 5 adult dragons on the 17th and will kill other 5 on the 31st to get hopefully 1 Undead Dragon at least - the killing was..."ok". But the message is really nasty!

My real problem is catching up on the past Halloweens because I don't know what to expect. TJ hasn't stated yet when the breeding season starts, but I heard it started on 25th last year. So the AP eggs drop a few days later right?

And, is here anyone who has a CB Cavern Lurker lady which would be free during Halloween period? I found this 2nd gen Brimstone in the AP today and influenced it become a male. I am not a fan of Lurkers overall and don't plan to catch many of them but, a perfect mate for him would be nice. I could breed anything on my scroll for it.

YAY for first Halloween! Holiday events are a blast on the cave and I think Halloween has always been my favorite. Good luck with getting your Undead. I'm still trying to create mine, so I'll do my killing here in the next week or so. That message really is awful, isn't it?

As soon as breeding time opens, the eggs will start dropping in the AP. People are really generous about breeding the past eggs and letting them go, so the AP will be filled with them.

That said, me, my daughter (angelbaby1) and my husband (rigcook35) all hunt the cave. They do just the holidays but I play all the time. Our paired Lurkers' eggs are already promised to someone, but we've got extra females between the three of us. So you are welcome to look and pick one out for your project. I'll breed any of the other Halloween specials you'd like as well, to make certain you get the ones you want.

I hadn't thought about doing the hatchlings, so I'll have to try that.

I don't think anything has 7 days in the AP any longer but they will be there as soon as people can breed and drop them.

I have never understood the lineage or generation thing all that well, but the offer is there if you do find the ones you need.

Oh, so that means the eggs will have 7 days in the AP?
I doubt it. Well, not unless TJ makes some changes again. In fact, I'm actually really curious how he will handle that, but the way it works now we'd have to wait three to four days until the abandoned holiday eggs appear in the AP, and will stay until almost a week after Halloween, too.

I got a Zombie on my very first try, three years ago. I just used some gigantically inbred dragons I had on my scroll that I decided at the last minute to sacrifice. I killed three more after the first success, lost them all, and then decided one was enough and have never tried again. I'm glad I have my one, but that's it for me!

I also have CBs of all the past dragons and some pretty lineaged ones as well. I only have plans for a few and will have plenty to breed on request. Once breeding rolls around, I'll probably post what I have available. You'll be able to find lots of good stuff in the AP, too.

Yeah, I don't like killing dragons. Although I'm now thinking of trying for a female to go with my male Zombie this year. I'm sure I've got some spare female dragons I could use. I don't kill in advance, I'll just wait until the day and see how I feel about it.

I did kill two dragons to make a deadline once. I bred them specifically for killing, and I left them unnamed so I wouldn't get attached. (I made the mistake of breeding one and naming him "L17", thinking it was just a designation, not a name, and I'd be able to kill him later, but I couldn't. So he's still on my scroll.) Both of them evaded two or three times before I finally managed to kill them -- that wasn't fun! I wanted to do it that one time, but now I'm done with deadlines, too!

I've also let numerous eggs die in failed Neglected experiments, but somehow I don't mind killing eggs, they're not really dragons yet.

I do have one extra Cavern Lurker female I'd be happy to breed with a Brimstone for you. I should probably start going through my dragons now and start my list. I have a few I'll be keeping for my own lineage plans, but most will be available for requests.

I went through my scroll and picked out 6-7 female dragons I could sacrifice if I wanted to try for a female Zombie this year. A few extras in case one of them dodges, so I can just go on to the next one. We'll see!

This is my deadline: Silver Fox Grave, a Silver Tinsel x Silver checker with Shadow Walker bases. I made it before TJ changed it so that dead dragons retain their lineages behind the tombstones, so the tombstones are unclickable. I think it turned out really pretty, but I'm not really into deadlines, so I just wanted to try it that once.

As for my Neglected, my notes say that the egg was an AP grab with approximately 11 hours left and stats of 32/14/15. It was added to 8 ERs and 3 refreshers at 1 minute 45 seconds left, and hatched with stats of 1117/113/17. Back when I was experimenting, there were a lot more ERs and they were less stuffed with AP eggs, so eggs could get more views in a short period of time.

In order to figure out when to ER, I took a couple of low-time eggs and timed them, stuffing them into all the ERs I could find and watching to see how long it took them to hatch. A 15-minute egg took around two minutes to hatch. So I ERed one at two minutes, and it hatched normally. I kept reducing the time until I got one to turn, which was around 1 minute 45 seconds. At that point, it was iffy whether they'd get enough views to hatch. You want them right on the edge of survival. Too few views, and they'll just run out of time and die. Too many, and they'll hatch without turning. But it's always a juggling act, because each egg is different, and you can never control the exact amount of views they get.

Maybe I'll start experimenting again (after Halloween, of course). I haven't had much to do on Dragon Cave lately, so it would be something else to play with.

I have never actually tried to make a zombie dragon! They just don't really appeal to me; I like the sprite, but the limited visibility of said sprite makes it not worth it to me. (Most of my work days start at 8 AM, which means getting up at 7; rare is the day when I am viewing my scroll between midnight and 6 AM!)

Looks like you've found a Lurker breeder, already, so best of luck!

Yeah, I guess that works better for other time zones. I can see my Zombies until 12.00h, which is very nice.

I got a zombie a couple of years ago, the only year I tried it - the first one was a succes, two others weren't; and didn't want to try after that :-)

I have several halloween's - I just lack the time to reaaly get into the breeding, but if there is anything you need, just 'yell' :-).
