August New Egg Drop
Aug. 2nd, 2014 10:52 amPer TJ:
"One dragon breed, eight eggs. Hunt these down in the forest and alpine.
This month marks the end of consistent beginning-of-the-month releases. While knowing when to look is nice, it also seems to have become a bit stale. Future releases will (very likely) still be on weekends, but may be scattered throughout the month."
Egg description: There is a thin layer of moisture coating this egg.
TJ has 8 eggs showing, all look identical, and all have same description. So not sure what the 8 part means yet. Nor am I happy about random drops in the future. :/ I like knowing when it is coming, so I can make sure I have room and catch them the day of the drop.

Date: 2014-08-03 07:48 pm (UTC)I like them early as possible because it means I have them, and I don't have to worry about them going rare or impossible on me (see Blusangs, Coppers, even blue 2-headed Lindwurms). So I totally feel for you. At least this way if I knew there was a drop and I wasn't around and didn't have internet, I could ask someone to get me a pair. My phone is too slow for catching anything, but trading/gifting works just fine.
I've been on DC for 6 years, and I am well aware it's TJ's sandbox (not being snide to YOU - he is just very good at reminding people he'll do whatever the hell he wants), but yes, it would be nice if he actually talked to his players and got a consensus of what works for people, what doesn't. Not knowing when you need an open scroll sucks. It means you can't breed, can't trade/gift, have space to just play with anything other than the anticipation of maybe, maybe not with drops. And I hate to dump eggs if I've every intention of keeping them. :(
I play another game (Doctor Who: Legacy) and they're a very small company, but the owners are awesome. They ask their players on assorted social media for input on pretty much everything, will adjust levels if too many people are having issues with them, give away all sorts of free stuff, and are just lovely people. It's also a for-free game, and their attitude vs other game companies is staggering. I wish TJ would take a few lessons from Susan and Lee.
