Favourites?
May. 31st, 2013 01:15 pmSo, the Day 7 dragons grew up on TJs scroll, and I'm curious what you think about the whole birthday release. Which are your favourites, which ones didn't you like so much? Do you have any breeding plans for them already?
My own favourites are the Bloodscales, the Black Capped Teimarr and the Coppers. No breeding plans yet, I first want to catch all my usual CB pairs.
I'm not so fond of the Black Teas, the Black Tips and the Seragamma - and I don't care at all for the Hellhorses. But I like a "complete" scroll, so I'm going to collect/breed all of them as well.
As a general thought, I was surprised how well the seven day release worked for me. Huge part of the reason were the incubates and skipping the hybrid for now - even with catching more than two eggs I had always room on my scroll for the next new egg.

+male hellhorse
+brownish copper
NOT SO MUCH:
+black tea
Overall, I enjoyed it, but I could wish for a little more colour variety - I felt like there was an overabundance of red/pink dragons, and those aren't colours I'm particularly drawn to.
I agree about the names, too; what is a "Teimarr" and when are we getting another one, since apparently it requires an epithet? (And - my inner grammarian demands to know - why "Black Capped" instead of "Black-capped"? They aren't black, just their caps are, so this seems like a dragon that skipped the proofreading stages.) Why "black tea" dragons instead of "tea" dragons, especially since, while tea smells nice to me and I certainly drink a lot of it, it's not something I really associate with butterflies? When I think of butterfly lures, I think of floral or fruity scents, so why the oddly specific yet vague name? (Also, which I haven't seen anyone else mention yet: why "Copper Dragons" when they're wyverns?!)
Possible breeding... Well, despite my minimal interest, I do think a Rosebud/Black Tea and Heartseeker/Black Tea lineage would be neat! And I think some of the Coppers would look really good paired with Spitfires. I kind of want to like the Bloodscales less than I do, because of the limited breeding opportunities; maybe I'll construct a naming pattern to make breeding worthwhile?
I really need some more Coppers, too! I think I got the most of the boring-est ones. :D MOAR Green Coppers (haha, can we call them "Verdigris Dragons"?) shall become my rallying cry. Wouldn't mind a few more Teimarrs, either. And I need to breed Mum some female Hellhorses to go with her female Hellfires, since she doesn't have any Horsedragons to breed her own with.

Date: 2013-06-01 09:16 am (UTC)Yeah, I rather like red - am not so fond of pink, though. I'm more the blues and greens type, both online and in analogue life. *g*
And nope, not associating tea with butterflies either. But then, I usually don't pay attention to the descriptions and breed information on the adults. Mostly I don't even read past the names.
Hee...yeah, a naming pattern for a purebred Bloodscale lineage could make things interesting. Because I love the Bloodscales a lot, and I really don't want to breed them with the Splits.
