Copper breeding

I have a question: I bred a pair of Red Coppers today and got a Red Copper egg. My daughter bred a Brown Copper to a Spitfire a few days ago and got a Brown Copper egg. Do colours for Coppers always breed true or were these just coincidences? What have your results been, if you have bred yours?

It's just a coincidence - I've checked out several coppers on Dragonmarket, and even though most of them bred true (my own did, too), I've also found some that didn't.

I was going to ask if it would have anything to do with them being purebred or not (your examples were both mixed parents), but codyne has answered it below. Now I am wondering what would happen with different coloured Coppers, I guess they would be the colour of one of the parents.
