Welcome, any and all new Dreamwidth users!

How's breeding going for everyone on your various lineage projects? I just had a 'no egg' attempt on my latest effort, but at least it wasn't a refusal. As soon as they do produce an egg, I'll be done with my Firemage lineage project!

What are your breeding plans for the upcoming holiday? Is anyone looking for holiday mates, or planning to try out a new cross this year? Post your ideas or wishes! Anyone want to guess what the new holiday breed will look like? :D If the pattern holds true, it'll be female this year; I'm hoping for something silvery or green, but wondering if maybe we'll go back to red at last? So far all of our red holiday breeds have been male, so a female would be nice!

Wow, holiday AND nebula checker -- that's hard mode! XD (I have two lineages with nebulas I'm attempting -- green neb x gaia and red neb x gold -- and they are both so pretty, but I make so little progress on them, because every time I have a free egg slot, I'd rather breed something I know I will be able to use, rather than something that is likely to take up 4 days, an influence, and an incubate, and still color wrong....) (I hope we do get that suggested color-influence BSA for nebulas at some point. Maybe I'll work on those lineages then...)

Wow, 10G PB! That is crazy dedication.

I just really like blusangs at all stages, so am always happy to see the eggs and hatchlings on my scroll, and so keep breeding them.

I actually find PB even-gens much easier to breed than checkers because as long as you get an egg, it's the right egg :), so I can sort of chip away at them at my leisure, with minimal frustration. The blusangs -- and I also have PB gold wyvern lineages that are at 7g fully self-bred / 10g and building a mate -- are my background project where, honestly, the hardest thing is keeping track in a giant spreadsheet to make sure I don't introduce any inbreeding.

Thanks for the Garland suggestions! They do look lovely with the golds and gold lunars, but I especially love the gaia combination -- I think I'm going to do that! (the terra mate lineage you linked below is also lovely, but gaias are some of my very favorite sprites, so that's going to be hard to beat for me).

And, ooh, a holiday Wyvern! that would be cool! -- and I guess we already got a holiday Wyrm with Omens and a holiday Eastern with Heartstealers, but I also can't think of a holiday Wyvern anywhere across the holidays...

I once saw somebody with a Nebula x Gemshard checker project called something like "this is why I cry at night" or something, and laughed so hard.

Ahaha XD Yeah, after I made that comment, I was thinking of what the most frustrating checker to breed would be, and gemshard x nebula would be it, short of throwing black/vine alts in there. At least for me personally, because I'd rather get the wrong egg 10 times but at least know it's the wrong egg right away. Lunars and holidays and those lineages where people are trying to get specific other-breed xenos would certainly take longer, but it's so much less frustrating not having to wait for an egg to hatch, let alone mature.

but if I pick one up in the AP let's face it, I'm going to give in. :D

Ha, well, good luck! It is a pretty lineage!

And I like the Starklurker combination as well -- the purple accents on the Lurkers is what makes them one of my favorite Halloween breeds, and the purple nebs really bring it out.)

I would name them all after the 'I Saw Three Ships' Christmas Carol, naturally.

Oooh! Now I really hope it is a sea serpent!
