Lineage Projects, Holidays, Welcome
Dec. 8th, 2018 08:02 pmWelcome, any and all new Dreamwidth users!
How's breeding going for everyone on your various lineage projects? I just had a 'no egg' attempt on my latest effort, but at least it wasn't a refusal. As soon as they do produce an egg, I'll be done with my Firemage lineage project!
What are your breeding plans for the upcoming holiday? Is anyone looking for holiday mates, or planning to try out a new cross this year? Post your ideas or wishes! Anyone want to guess what the new holiday breed will look like? :D If the pattern holds true, it'll be female this year; I'm hoping for something silvery or green, but wondering if maybe we'll go back to red at last? So far all of our red holiday breeds have been male, so a female would be nice!

(Neb x Valentine would be easier, as you don't have to manipulate the Valentines' genders. Neb x Lunar Herald, or a Neb x holiday with alternating colours, would be harder.)
Although I once saw somebody with a Nebula x Gemshard checker project called something like "this is why I cry at night" or something, and laughed so hard. THAT is true dedication to hard mode there!
PB even-gens much easier to breed than checkers because as long as you get an egg, it's the right egg :)
This is true! It's kinda how I feel about holiday checkers, too; they're nice because for the most part (barring things like Nebs/Lunars/Florets/Firegems) you either get no egg, or the right egg.
I'm trying not to talk myself into a Garland/Gaia lineage on top of all the others I like, but if I pick one up in the AP let's face it, I'm going to give in. :D
If you want to see the Starlurkers, here's the highest gen thus far, and here's the complete list of everybody involved! It was going to stop at 5G, and then at 6G, but I keep ending up with spare lower-gens and then I feel bad about not using them, so the goal goes higher. :D So I'm always looking for new blood - and for miscolored purple Nebs to freeze as group dividers.
Wyvern holiday would be a nice, since TJ seems to be branching out on holiday body types - as you noted, we've had a wyrm and an Eastern, and Garlands are amphipteres, so why not a wyvern? Though a sea serpent would also be fun and original!
I would name them all after the 'I Saw Three Ships' Christmas Carol, naturally.no subject
Date: 2018-12-09 10:14 pm (UTC)Ahaha XD Yeah, after I made that comment, I was thinking of what the most frustrating checker to breed would be, and gemshard x nebula would be it, short of throwing black/vine alts in there. At least for me personally, because I'd rather get the wrong egg 10 times but at least know it's the wrong egg right away. Lunars and holidays and those lineages where people are trying to get specific other-breed xenos would certainly take longer, but it's so much less frustrating not having to wait for an egg to hatch, let alone mature.
but if I pick one up in the AP let's face it, I'm going to give in. :D
Ha, well, good luck! It is a pretty lineage!
And I like the Starklurker combination as well -- the purple accents on the Lurkers is what makes them one of my favorite Halloween breeds, and the purple nebs really bring it out.)

Oooh! Now I really hope it is a sea serpent!
